Frisbees
and hoola-hoops.
Remember?
Lazy summer
afternoons with nothing to do. Playing hard until mom made you
come take a bath (man were baths ever a waste of time!).
Remember
who you were before the other you showed up?
When's
the last time you did what you LOVE doing? A week ago? A month
ago? A year ago?
I remember
a commercial jingle for the Army , "Be all that you
can be".
We're bombarded
with the messages of working hard to "be that" or
to get to "that spot" (wherever that spot is).
We're pressured from all sides to "be something".
And in the process of trying to become something or someone,
we FORGOT. We forget who we are! And then we spend our adult
lives only trying to remember.
That's
why you find yourself reading my stuff and going, "I knew
that"! Of course you knew it. I'm reminding you of what
you already know. I'm reminding you of YOU!

Long ago
you knew how to naturally cry hard so that in the next instant
you could laugh again. You knew how to forgive.
You knew how to Let
go of things you had no control over. You lived in the NOW
rather than in tomorrow (worry) or in yesterday (regret &
guilt). You weren't so consumed with holding back for fear of
looking foolish. Agendas were not a part of your day.
Long ago
you were more YOU
than perhaps you've been lately. I'm here to BUMP YOU BACK TO
YOU. You'll probably find more of your answers there
than you will from all those books, seminars & pills!
