When
you love yourself, suddenly everyone else stands in line to
love you as well!
It's
a paradox. Seems backwards!
The more I love me, the more everyone else loves me...and the
more capacity I have to love others! Why is this?
I
remember growing up and hearing, "you can't really
love another until you love yourself". I always thought
how right that sounded but never really understood it. And of
course at the same time I heard that it's selfish (bad) to focus
on me!
Let's
be clear first on "Loving Yourself". Self love has
nothing to do with conceit or self-centeredness. The key difference
between arrog
ance and self confidence is in its relativity. Arrogance compares
& relates itself to another as being better than. Confidence
stands on its own merit as having value without regard to judgment
or evaluation of others.
I
tell you with excitement in my words that, YEP...
Here's
how it works.
When
I'm OK with me...when I'm comfortable in my own skin...when
my self esteem is not an issue, I don't need for you or anyone
else to tell me that I'm OK (or to refrain from telling
me that I'm not OK).
