feeling lost

So let's get crackin' shall we? This life aint no dress rehearsal, ya know!

What do you do when you're in pitch dark? Reach for something you can define, right? Here's a couch. OK here's a wall. And a lamp. Great! I have my bearings!

So let's reach for something you know in life. Let's get back to you. REMEMBERING YOU is your salvation in moving from that lonely state of lost.

What do you value most in life? What do you love most? These two questions are prompting you to remember your very foundation. Your very core. You very self that you loved and left somewhere behind (maybe at the last rest stop between those two states!).

If these questions leave you gazing into space like my dog Bob staring at the ceiling fan, not to worry! We'll break you out of the Hold-back-funk that we've all found ourselves in before.

Imagine with me your most enjoyable relationship. What's present there? Free communication? Laughter? Honesty? A sense of giving? What comes to your mind? Whatever first comes to mind is probably related to what you value most in life. Now think about what you've created in your relationships presently. Do they contain this thing that you value most? If not, then you're living outta synch with yourself baby! You're building relationships that DO NOT REFLECT YOU. So then it's time to shift. It's time to start lining your LIFE up with what you value. This will go far in bringing your life more IN SYNC WITH WHO YOU ARE.

Here's a great exercise for when you're feeling lost or just confused (it's simple yet extremely effective). Grab a pen and paper and write down what you know is TRUE. " I am loving. I am honest. I am talented. God has blessed me with ..." Reminding yourself of what you know helps lift you from the very state that drags you into the fog...the state of un-truths. Getting your hands around what you KNOW is like finding the couch or the lamp. You have your bearings now. This is where we want to start on our journey back to the light. Do this, it's a very powerful exercise.

Focus on what's true, on who you are (what you love and value), and in short order you'll notice yourself feeling much stronger and clearer. You'll re-find your center. That's my guarantee! Throw some ketchup on top of it by inputting some sort of positive brain-nudger in the form of a book or CD. Tons of great material out there to give you a bump. I've got a good one for you...go grab a copy of it now and I'll wait til you get back.

I respect that there are serious webs we weave ourselves into over the years, and I'm not implying that a pen and paper exercise will erase years of depression & mental states. However I do believe that many of the major emotional crisis we experience are related in many ways to LOSING TOUCH with WHO WE ARE. And I have watched mighty strides made when friends and clients make continued conscious efforts to recount their own truths and begin restoring their own sense of being.

If you're suffering from a feeling of LOST, my heart goes out to you my friend. Please accept my heart-felt invitation to take this trip back to you.
