"Every
time I run away, I keep finding the thing
I'm running from...MYSELF!"
We're
always either running toward something
we want or running away from something
we fear. The latter keeps us from fully
experiencing the delicious existence.
Hiders
come in many flavors and shapes. Shy. Comedians.
Bullies. Over-workers.
Look
at our buddy the hermit crab. Safe, huh?
That li'l critter is all burrowed up in
his shell, hiding safely from the elements
and from being someone's dinner! Yep he's
really...he's really...by himself alot!
Hmm.
Hiding out, holding back, fleeing, dismissing,
denying, avoiding, withdrawing, not engaging,
cutting off, holding out...the list is endless.
They're all our crafty & talented ways
we Flee from life. The illusion
is we think the
walls we're building are actually protecting
us.
And
while we think that we're keeping ourselves
from pain, we're literally keeping ourselves
IN PAIN as we isolate from Life itself
and insure whatever it is that we fear will
set up camp at our doorstep and not go away
(until we face it).
Those
things we've deemed as "painful"
are necessary for our growth and forward
movement. What are we avoiding? What's so
painful? What is it that keeps us so fearful?
I'll give you a hint...
the
things I avoid are anything and everything
that wants to point its dirty little pointer
at the side of me that I fear isn't GOOD
ENOUGH.
