Best
I can figure, everybody (and their dog) is out
there huntin' for the same thing...
Happiness.
Some of
us just have a funny way of goin' about it!
Happiness.
It's out there somewhere!
"If
I can just get married!"
"Man,
has life ever dealt me a bad wrap!"
"It's
just not my fault where I am!"
"If
I can just get a break. Get the right job."
"Boob
job. That's what I need!"
"Someday,
things will get better and I'll be happier."
Whittle
it to the core and here it is: I'm continually
looking for my happiness in one of two places:
Either
Outside of myself
or
Inside myself.
Most of
my life I've been doing little more than pokin'
around "out
there" trying to find my happiness
in other things and people. Guess what? It
aint out there! I already looked! There.
I hope that saves you a little time!
I found
that snoopin' around out there for my joy only
leaves me blaming
someone else for what I don't have and for what
they can't give me. And that leaves me with
a mess of burned up bridges behind me and a
bit more discouraged about ever finding that
joy out there in front of me. But we keep trying.
And trying.
A
key to having the love and joy and peace and
whatever else you want in life is to GIT (git
means to really really really "get
it") that YOU have brought yourself to
exactly where you are right now. All of your
choices (and non-choices) add up to your present
YOU.
Your
awakening
takes place as your eyes recognize that all
those upsets at your spouse & the holding
back or showin' off...they were all just your
attempts to make "out there" provide
you with the happiness that you wanted. Give it
some thought. Everything you do or say is directly
or indirectly aimed at bringing you a positive
experience. And here's the kicker...that happiness
has been "in
here" all along! Holy Cow you could have saved
all that gas and time!
YOU
created YOU. And your belief that "they"
or "it" or
circumstances
brought you to where you are today only keeps
you spinning your wheels while waiting for
them to get better so that you can
get better.
They
or it had nothing to do with who and where you
are today. Sure they've had their influence...but
YOU'VE made all the choices. And that's the best
news I can give you my friend! Here's why.
