Holy
cow! This "taking responsibility thing"
doesn't hurt near as badly as I feared it would!
In fact, it feels kinda clean!
Your
excuses for why you're not where you "should
be" are writing your daily permission slip
to stay where you're at, my friend. You may be keeping
yourself from looking bad or feeling wrong, but
believe me...that good lookin' race horse that's
tied to the post over there would much rather be
running the race than just looking good.
When
you notice yourself wanting to place blame, consider
what you're trying to gain. What's in it for you?
Consider, will it truly bring
you what you want? Consider another way. Consider
leaving judgment out of it altogether and giving
all emotions and actions and thoughts the right
to exist without your critique. In that state of
blamelessness, notice how much more "present"
you feel with any situation. Then consider how often
blame (and shame and judgment) has kept you from
being Vulnerable
and from being REAL with people and circumstances
in your world.
